But Lot answered, “No, please don't make us do that, sir.

No! Only the men may go and worship the Lord if that is what you want.” With that, Moses and Aaron were driven out of the king's presence.

But I replied, “No, Sovereign Lord! I have never defiled myself. From childhood on I have never eaten meat from any animal that died a natural death or was killed by wild animals. I have never eaten any food considered unclean.”

Then a man suffering from a dreaded skin disease came to him, knelt down before him, and said, “Sir, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

They noticed that some of his disciples were eating their food with hands that were ritually unclean—that is, they had not washed them in the way the Pharisees said people should. (

But his mother said, “No! His name is to be John.”

“Sir,” the woman said, “you don't have a bucket, and the well is deep. Where would you get that life-giving water?

A voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat!”

He said to them, “You yourselves know very well that a Jew is not allowed by his religion to visit or associate with Gentiles. But God has shown me that I must not consider any person ritually unclean or defiled.

‘Who are you, Lord?’ I asked. ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute,’ he said to me.

“Who are you, Lord?” he asked. “I am Jesus, whom you persecute,” the voice said.
