Acts 1:14

They gathered frequently to pray as a group, together with the women and with Mary the mother of Jesus and with his brothers.

Jesus was still talking to the people when his mother and brothers arrived. They stood outside, asking to speak with him.

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

There were many women there, looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee and helped him.

Some women were there, looking on from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of the younger James and of Joseph, and Salome.

After the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices to go and anoint the body of Jesus.

As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged.

All those who knew Jesus personally, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance to watch.

The women who had followed Jesus from Galilee went with Joseph and saw the tomb and how Jesus' body was placed in it.

The women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; they and the other women with them told these things to the apostles.

They got up at once and went back to Jerusalem, where they found the eleven disciples gathered together with the others

and spent all their time in the Temple giving thanks to God.

Someone said to Jesus, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you.”

When the day of Pentecost came, all the believers were gathered together in one place.

They spent their time in learning from the apostles, taking part in the fellowship, and sharing in the fellowship meals and the prayers.

Day after day they met as a group in the Temple, and they had their meals together in their homes, eating with glad and humble hearts,

We ourselves, then, will give our full time to prayer and the work of preaching.”

Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.

The person who speaks in strange tongues, then, must pray for the gift to explain what is said.

Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people.

Be persistent in prayer, and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to God.
