And so David realized that the Lord had established him as king of Israel and was making his kingdom prosperous for the sake of his people.

I praise you, Lord, because you have saved me and kept my enemies from gloating over me.

“Mortal man,” he said, “this is what the people in the city of Tyre are cheering about. They shout, ‘Jerusalem is shattered! Her commercial power is gone! She won't be our rival any more!’
