“Let Ziba have it all,” Mephibosheth answered. “It's enough for me that Your Majesty has come home safely.”

There was a servant of Saul's family named Ziba, and he was told to go to David. “Are you Ziba?” the king asked. “At your service, sir,” he answered.

“Don't be afraid,” David replied. “I will be kind to you for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will give you back all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always be welcome at my table.”

Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said, “I am giving Mephibosheth, your master's grandson, everything that belonged to Saul and his family.

I will get rid of anyone who whispers evil things about someone else; I will not tolerate anyone who is proud and arrogant.

“You must stop judging unjustly; you must no longer be partial to the wicked!

Listen before you answer. If you don't, you are being stupid and insulting.

But since it is an argument about words and names and your own law, you yourselves must settle it. I will not be the judge of such things!”
