For what this world considers to be wisdom is nonsense in God's sight. As the scripture says, “God traps the wise in their cleverness”;

Such wisdom does not come down from heaven; it belongs to the world, it is unspiritual and demonic.

and his wife was given to the man that had been his best man at the wedding.

Then he asked him, “Do you have any more sons?” Jesse answered, “There is still the youngest, but he is out taking care of the sheep.” “Tell him to come here,” Samuel said. “We won't offer the sacrifice until he comes.”

Jesse then brought Shammah. “No, the Lord hasn't chosen him either,” Samuel said.
