Good News Translation

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by God's will, and from our brother Timothy— To the church of God in Corinth, and to all God's people throughout Achaia:

Paul traveled on to Derbe and Lystra, where a Christian named Timothy lived. His mother, who was also a Christian, was Jewish, but his father was a Greek.

For the churches in Macedonia and Achaia have freely decided to give an offering to help the poor among God's people in Jerusalem.

Timothy, my fellow worker, sends you his greetings; and so do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, fellow Jews.

Greetings also to the church that meets in their house. Greetings to my dear friend Epaenetus, who was the first in the province of Asia to believe in Christ.

Live in such a way as to cause no trouble either to Jews or Gentiles or to the church of God.

If Timothy comes your way, be sure to make him feel welcome among you, because he is working for the Lord, just as I am.

You know about Stephanas and his family; they are the first Christian converts in Achaia and have given themselves to the service of God's people. I beg you, my friends,

My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.

Some of you were like that. But you have been purified from sin; you have been dedicated to God; you have been put right with God by the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was preached among you by Silas, Timothy, and myself, is not one who is “Yes” and “No.” On the contrary, he is God's “Yes”;

I call God as my witness—he knows my heart! It was in order to spare you that I decided not to go to Corinth.

By Christ's truth in me, I promise that this boast of mine will not be silenced anywhere in all of Achaia.

I know that you are willing to help, and I have boasted of you to the people in Macedonia. “The believers in Achaia,” I said, “have been ready to help since last year.” Your eagerness has stirred up most of them.

From Paul, whose call to be an apostle did not come from human beings or by human means, but from Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from death.

It is through faith that all of you are God's children in union with Christ Jesus.
