Saul was convinced by what Jonathan said and made a vow in the Lord's name that he would not kill David.

“Why should he die?” Jonathan replied. “What has he done?”

Ahimelech answered, “David is the most faithful officer you have! He is your own son-in-law, captain of your bodyguard, and highly respected by everyone in the royal court.

The woman went over to him and saw that he was terrified, so she said to him, “Please, sir, I risked my life by doing what you asked.
