From then on Gideon was known as Jerubbaal, because Joash said, “Let Baal defend himself; it is his altar that was torn down.”

One day Gideon and all his men got up early and camped beside Harod Spring. The Midianite camp was in the valley to the north of them by Moreh Hill.

Gideon went back to his own home and lived there.

They were not grateful to the family of Gideon for all the good that he had done for Israel.

So all the people of Israel, from one end of the country to the other, knew that Samuel was indeed a prophet of the Lord.

So the Philistines were defeated, and the Lord prevented them from invading Israel's territory as long as Samuel lived.
