You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart.

There was a man named Job, living in the land of Uz, who worshiped God and was faithful to him. He was a good man, careful not to do anything evil.

“Did you notice my servant Job?” the Lord asked. “There is no one on earth as faithful and good as he is. He worships me and is careful not to do anything evil. You persuaded me to let you attack him for no reason at all, but Job is still as faithful as ever.”

God said to us humans, “To be wise, you must have reverence for the Lord. To understand, you must turn from evil.”

Lord, do good to those who are good, to those who obey your commands.

Turn away from evil and do good; strive for peace with all your heart.

Turn away from evil and do good, and your descendants will always live in the land;

Those who are good travel a road that avoids evil; so watch where you are going—it may save your life.

Be loyal and faithful, and God will forgive your sin. Obey the Lord and nothing evil will happen to you.

Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the Lord and refuse to do wrong.

so that you may become the children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun to shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil.

“Happy are those who work for peace; God will call them his children!

Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.’

You will always have poor people with you, and any time you want to, you can help them. But you will not always have me.

and to shine from heaven on all those who live in the dark shadow of death, to guide our steps into the path of peace.”

No! Love your enemies and do good to them; lend and expect nothing back. You will then have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God. For he is good to the ungrateful and the wicked.

Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you: What does our Law allow us to do on the Sabbath? To help or to harm? To save someone's life or destroy it?”

I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but I do ask you to keep them safe from the Evil One.

Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody.

For God's Kingdom is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of the righteousness, peace, and joy which the Holy Spirit gives.

So then, we must always aim at those things that bring peace and that help strengthen one another.

Now that we have been put right with God through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I don't do the good I want to do; instead, I do the evil that I do not want to do.

So I find that this law is at work: when I want to do what is good, what is evil is the only choice I have.

To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace.

But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

So then, as often as we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and especially to those who belong to our family in the faith.

The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.

Command them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share with others.

Try to be at peace with everyone, and try to live a holy life, because no one will see the Lord without it.

Do not forget to do good and to help one another, because these are the sacrifices that please God.

So then, if we do not do the good we know we should do, we are guilty of sin.

For the Lord watches over the righteous and listens to their prayers; but he opposes those who do evil.”

My dear friend, do not imitate what is bad, but imitate what is good. Whoever does good belongs to God; whoever does what is bad has not seen God.
