As the scripture says, “If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good times, you must keep from speaking evil and stop telling lies.

For if you want to save your own life, you will lose it; but if you lose your life for me and for the gospel, you will save it.

When Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, he said about him, “Here is a real Israelite; there is nothing false in him!”

Those who love their own life will lose it; those who hate their own life in this world will keep it for life eternal.

These teachings are not empty words; they are your very life. Obey them and you will live long in that land across the Jordan that you are about to occupy.”

Do any of you think you are religious? If you do not control your tongue, your religion is worthless and you deceive yourself.

Rid yourselves, then, of all evil; no more lying or hypocrisy or jealousy or insulting language.

He committed no sin, and no one ever heard a lie come from his lips.

They have never been known to tell lies; they are faultless.
