When King Jeroboam heard this, he pointed at him and ordered, “Seize that man!” At once the king's arm became paralyzed so that he couldn't pull it back.

King Hezekiah asked, “What is the sign to prove that the Lord will heal me and that three days later I will be able to go to the Temple?”

Then Moses answered the Lord, “But suppose the Israelites do not believe me and will not listen to what I say. What shall I do if they say that you did not appear to me?”

So Moses and Aaron went to the king and did as the Lord had commanded. Aaron threw his walking stick down in front of the king and his officers, and it turned into a snake.

Then King Hezekiah asked, “What is the sign to prove that I will be able to go to the Temple?”

I, the Lord, will give you proof that I will punish you in this place and that my promise to bring destruction on you will come true.

The Jewish authorities came back at him with a question, “What miracle can you perform to show us that you have the right to do this?”

Jews want miracles for proof, and Greeks look for wisdom.

Gideon replied, “If you are pleased with me, give me some proof that you are really the Lord.

When your two sons Hophni and Phinehas both die on the same day, this will show you that everything I have said will come true.
