What you say can preserve life or destroy it; so you must accept the consequences of your words.

Say that this is what the Sovereign Lord is telling the king of Egypt: I am your enemy, you monster crocodile, lying in the river. You say that the Nile is yours and that you made it.

When they come to kill you, will you still claim that you are a god? When you face your murderers, you will be mortal and not at all divine.

“Mortal man,” he said, “tell the ruler of Tyre what I, the Sovereign Lord, am saying to him: Puffed up with pride, you claim to be a god. You say that like a god you sit on a throne, surrounded by the seas. You may pretend to be a god, but, no, you are mortal, not divine.

Stop your loud boasting; silence your proud words. For the Lord is a God who knows, and he judges all that people do.

The enemy said, ‘I will pursue them and catch them; I will divide their wealth and take all I want; I will draw my sword and take all they have.’

I reached out to punish those kingdoms that worship idols, idols more numerous than those of Jerusalem and Samaria.

I don't know how to flatter, and God would quickly punish me if I did.

Leave your troubles with the Lord, and he will defend you; he never lets honest people be defeated.

A hypocrite hides hate behind flattering words.

You go to court, but you do not have justice on your side. You depend on lies to win your case. You carry out your plans to hurt others.

Their tongues are like deadly arrows; they always tell lies. Everyone speaks friendly words to their neighbors, but they are really setting a trap for them.

Even your relatives, members of your own family, have betrayed you; they join in the attacks against you. Do not trust them, even though they speak friendly words.”
