A widow or a divorced woman must keep every vow she makes and every promise to abstain from something.
A married woman, for example, is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives; but if he dies, then she is free from the law that bound her to him.
A priest shall not marry a woman who has been a prostitute or a woman who is not a virgin or who is divorced; he is holy.
But if her husband forbids her to fulfill the vow when he hears about it, she is not required to keep it. The Lord will forgive her.
