I would like for all of you to speak in strange tongues; but I would rather that you had the gift of proclaiming God's message. For the person who proclaims God's message is of greater value than the one who speaks in strange tongues—unless there is someone present who can explain what is said, so that the whole church may be helped.

Do not complain against one another, my friends, so that God will not judge you. The Judge is near, ready to appear.

Don't think that there is no truth in the scripture that says, “The spirit that God placed in us is filled with fierce desires.”

He said to them, “There is a large harvest, but few workers to gather it in. Pray to the owner of the harvest that he will send out workers to gather in his harvest.

Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves.

Rid yourselves, then, of all evil; no more lying or hypocrisy or jealousy or insulting language.

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;

No one, then, should boast about what human beings can do. Actually everything belongs to you:

“Whether a short time or a long time,” Paul answered, “my prayer to God is that you and all the rest of you who are listening to me today might become what I am—except, of course, for these chains!”

because you still live as the people of this world live. When there is jealousy among you and you quarrel with one another, doesn't this prove that you belong to this world, living by its standards?

Then Moses and the seventy leaders of Israel went back to camp.

Suddenly the spirit of the Lord will take control of you, and you will join in their religious dancing and shouting and will become a different person.

Then, Israel, you will know that I am among you and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other. My people will never be despised again.

The Lord says, “At that time I will restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem.
