You mountains, you everlasting foundations of the earth, listen to the Lord's case! The Lord has a case against his people. He is going to bring an accusation against Israel.

The Lord has an accusation to bring against the people of Judah; he is also going to punish Israel for the way her people act. He will pay them back for what they have done.

The Lord has an accusation to bring against the people who live in this land. Listen, Israel, to what he says: “There is no faithfulness or love in the land, and the people do not acknowledge me as God.

The Lord says, “Now, let's settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool.

You have set the earth firmly on its foundations, and it will never be moved.

The floor of the ocean was laid bare, and the foundations of the earth were uncovered when the Lord rebuked his enemies and roared at them in anger.

My anger will flame up like fire and burn everything on earth. It will reach to the world below and consume the roots of the mountains.

If one day the sky could be measured and the foundations of the earth explored, only then would he reject the people of Israel because of all they have done. The Lord has spoken.

and the sound will echo to the ends of the earth. The Lord has a case against the nations. He will bring all people to trial and put the wicked to death. The Lord has spoken.’”

“And so I, the Lord, will state my case against my people again. I will bring charges against their descendants.

“Let us go to court; bring your accusation! Present your case to prove you are in the right!

So now my friend says, “You people who live in Jerusalem and Judah, judge between my vineyard and me.

The Lord is ready to state his case; he is ready to judge his people.

Listen to the Lord's case against Israel. Arise, O Lord, and present your case; let the mountains and the hills hear what you say.
