So everyone from the town went out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged him to leave their territory.

So they went and apologized to them; then they led them out of the prison and asked them to leave the city.

When Simon Peter saw what had happened, he fell on his knees before Jesus and said, “Go away from me, Lord! I am a sinful man!”

The wicked tell God to leave them alone; they don't want to know his will for their lives.

These are the ones who rejected God and believed that he could do nothing to them.

Amaziah then said to Amos, “That's enough, prophet! Go on back to Judah and do your preaching there. Let them pay you for it.
