“Happy are those who are merciful to others; God will be merciful to them!

Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.

O Lord, you are faithful to those who are faithful to you, and completely good to those who are perfect.

For God will not show mercy when he judges the person who has not been merciful; but mercy triumphs over judgment.

But the wisdom from above is pure first of all; it is also peaceful, gentle, and friendly; it is full of compassion and produces a harvest of good deeds; it is free from prejudice and hypocrisy.

You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

No! Love your enemies and do good to them; lend and expect nothing back. You will then have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God. For he is good to the ungrateful and the wicked.

No, the Lord has told us what is good. What he requires of us is this: to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble fellowship with our God.

When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.

God is not unfair. He will not forget the work you did or the love you showed for him in the help you gave and are still giving to other Christians.

So then, Your Majesty, follow my advice. Stop sinning, do what is right, and be merciful to the poor. Then you will continue to be prosperous.”

Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.

You do yourself a favor when you are kind. If you are cruel, you only hurt yourself.

At one time you were not God's people, but now you are his people; at one time you did not know God's mercy, but now you have received his mercy.

And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done.”

If you want to be happy, be kind to the poor; it is a sin to despise anyone.

So call your fellow Israelites “God's People” and “Loved-by-the-Lord.”

He gives generously to the needy, and his kindness never fails; he will be powerful and respected.

Light shines in the darkness for good people, for those who are merciful, kind, and just.

At all times they give freely and lend to others, and their children are a blessing.

Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped.
