Then the Devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in all their greatness.

Will you gain anything if you win the whole world but lose your life? Of course not! There is nothing you can give to regain your life.

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The power to rule over the world belongs now to our Lord and his Messiah, and he will rule forever and ever!”

As the scripture says, “All human beings are like grass, and all their glory is like wild flowers. The grass withers, and the flowers fall,

He boasted to them about how rich he was, how many sons he had, how the king had promoted him to high office, and how much more important he was than any of the king's other officials.

For six whole months he made a show of the riches of the imperial court with all its splendor and majesty.

Then the Devil took Jesus to Jerusalem, the Holy City, set him on the highest point of the Temple,

Then Balaam said to Balak, “Stand here by your burnt offering, while I go to see whether or not the Lord will meet me. I will tell you whatever he reveals to me.” So he went alone to the top of a hill,

For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. He will show him even greater things to do than this, and you will all be amazed.
