When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he went away to Galilee.

After John had been put in prison, Jesus went to Galilee and preached the Good News from God.

Then Herod did an even worse thing by putting John in prison.

For Herod had earlier ordered John's arrest, and he had him tied up and put in prison. He had done this because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife.

Then Jesus returned to Galilee, and the power of the Holy Spirit was with him. The news about him spread throughout all that territory.

Herod himself had ordered John's arrest, and he had him tied up and put in prison. Herod did this because of Herodias, whom he had married, even though she was the wife of his brother Philip.

This was the second miracle that Jesus performed after coming from Judea to Galilee.

After spending two days there, Jesus left and went to Galilee.

Then Jesus went to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, where he taught the people on the Sabbath.

When John the Baptist heard in prison about the things that Christ was doing, he sent some of his disciples to him.

But they insisted even more strongly, “With his teaching he is starting a riot among the people all through Judea. He began in Galilee and now has come here.”

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Come with me!” (

Jesus performed this first miracle in Cana in Galilee; there he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
