After the Sabbath, as Sunday morning was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the wife of Zebedee.

Then they went back home and prepared the spices and perfumes for the body. On the Sabbath they rested, as the Law commanded.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there, facing the tomb.

Some of the women of our group surprised us; they went at dawn to the tomb,

Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, carrying the spices they had prepared.

At dawn the king got up and hurried to the pit.
