When he left the crowd and went into the house, his disciples asked him to explain this saying.
Peter spoke up, “Explain this saying to us.”
When Jesus had left the crowd and gone indoors, his disciples came to him and said, “Tell us what the parable about the weeds in the field means.”
After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn't we drive the spirit out?”
He would not speak to them without using parables, but when he was alone with his disciples, he would explain everything to them.
When Jesus was alone, some of those who had heard him came to him with the twelve disciples and asked him to explain the parables.
Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?”
A few days later Jesus went back to Capernaum, and the news spread that he was at home.
Then Jesus went home. Again such a large crowd gathered that Jesus and his disciples had no time to eat.
“You are no more intelligent than the others,” Jesus said to them. “Don't you understand? Nothing that goes into you from the outside can really make you unclean,
