Some teachers of the Law who had come from Jerusalem were saying, “He has Beelzebul in him! It is the chief of the demons who gives him the power to drive them out.”

Then some Pharisees and teachers of the Law came from Jerusalem to Jesus and asked him,

So a pupil should be satisfied to become like his teacher, and a slave like his master. If the head of the family is called Beelzebul, the members of the family will be called even worse names!

When the Pharisees heard this, they replied, “He drives out demons only because their ruler Beelzebul gives him power to do so.”

But the Pharisees said, “It is the chief of the demons who gives Jesus the power to drive out demons.”

“You have a demon in you!” the crowd answered. “Who is trying to kill you?”

They said to him, “Now we know for sure that you have a demon! Abraham died, and the prophets died, yet you say that whoever obeys your teaching will never die.

They asked Jesus, “Were we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon in you?”

but some of the people said, “It is Beelzebul, the chief of the demons, who gives him the power to drive them out.”

Some Pharisees and teachers of the Law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus.

When John came, he fasted and drank no wine, and everyone said, ‘He has a demon in him!’

It was winter, and the Festival of the Dedication of the Temple was being celebrated in Jerusalem.

One day when Jesus was teaching, some Pharisees and teachers of the Law were sitting there who had come from every town in Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was present for Jesus to heal the sick.

But I am no longer a human being; I am a worm, despised and scorned by everyone!

King Ahaziah of Israel fell off the balcony on the roof of his palace in Samaria and was seriously injured. So he sent some messengers to consult Baalzebub, the god of the Philistine city of Ekron, in order to find out whether or not he would recover.
