Mark 2:24

So the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Look, it is against our Law for your disciples to do that on the Sabbath!”

but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day no one is to work—neither you, your children, your slaves, your animals, nor the foreigners who live in your country.

Think of what he went through; how he put up with so much hatred from sinners! So do not let yourselves become discouraged and give up.

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to Jesus, “Look, it is against our Law for your disciples to do this on the Sabbath!”

Some teachers of the Law, who were Pharisees, saw that Jesus was eating with these outcasts and tax collectors, so they asked his disciples, “Why does he eat with such people?”

“How does he dare talk like this? This is blasphemy! God is the only one who can forgive sins!”

The Lord says, “If you treat the Sabbath as sacred and do not pursue your own interests on that day; if you value my holy day and honor it by not traveling, working, or talking idly on that day,

And the Lord says to those foreigners who become part of his people, who love him and serve him, who observe the Sabbath and faithfully keep his covenant:

The Lord says to such a man, “If you honor me by observing the Sabbath and if you do what pleases me and faithfully keep my covenant,

I will bless those who always observe the Sabbath and do not misuse it. I will bless those who do nothing evil.”

You have six days in which to do your work, but the seventh day is a solemn day of rest dedicated to me. Whoever does any work on that day is to be put to death.

Jesus answered, “Have you never read what David did that time when he needed something to eat? He and his men were hungry,
