Jesus was walking through some wheat fields on a Sabbath. His disciples began to pick the heads of wheat, rub them in their hands, and eat the grain.

When you walk along a path in someone else's grainfield, you may eat all the grain you can pull off with your hands, but you must not cut any grain with a sickle.

On the first of these days you shall gather for worship and do none of your daily work.

The Lord said, “For seven days you must not eat any bread made with yeast—eat only unleavened bread. On the first day you are to get rid of all the yeast in your houses, for if anyone during those seven days eats bread made with yeast, he shall no longer be considered one of my people.

“Count seven weeks from the time that you begin to harvest the grain,

Count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath on which you bring your sheaf of grain to present to the Lord.

And you don't want new wine after drinking old wine. ‘The old is better,’ you say.”

On another Sabbath Jesus went into a synagogue and taught. A man was there whose right hand was paralyzed.
