Then he led them out of the city as far as Bethany, where he raised his hands and blessed them.

Then the apostles went back to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, which is about half a mile away from the city.

Jesus left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

These are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said as he spoke a suitable word of farewell to each son.

As they approached Jerusalem, near the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, they came to the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of his disciples on ahead

Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them.

Joseph answered, “These are my sons, whom God has given me here in Egypt.” Jacob said, “Bring them to me so that I may bless them.”

Cook me some of that tasty food that I like, and bring it to me. After I have eaten it, I will give you my final blessing before I die.”

When Aaron had finished all the sacrifices, he raised his hands over the people and blessed them, and then stepped down.

Joshua sent them home with his blessing and with these words: “You are going back home very rich, with a lot of livestock, silver, gold, bronze, iron, and many clothes. Share with your fellow tribesmen what you took from your enemies.” Then they left for home. Moses had given land east of the Jordan to one half of the tribe of Manasseh, but to the other half Joshua had given land west of the Jordan, along with the other tribes.

As he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up into heaven.

After saying this, he was taken up to heaven as they watched him, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

In every church service I want the men to pray, men who are dedicated to God and can lift up their hands in prayer without anger or argument.
