Jesus answered him, “Friend, who gave me the right to judge or to divide the property between you two?”

But you, my friend, do those very things for which you pass judgment on others! Do you think you will escape God's judgment?

But who are you, my friend, to talk back to God? A clay pot does not ask the man who made it, “Why did you make me like this?”

Do you, my friend, pass judgment on others? You have no excuse at all, whoever you are. For when you judge others and then do the same things which they do, you condemn yourself.

The man answered, “Who made you our ruler and judge? Are you going to kill me just as you killed that Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said to himself, “People have found out what I have done.”

“No one, sir,” she answered. “Well, then,” Jesus said, “I do not condemn you either. Go, but do not sin again.”]

Jesus knew that they were about to come and seize him in order to make him king by force; so he went off again to the hills by himself.

When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, “Your sins are forgiven, my friend.”

No, the Lord has told us what is good. What he requires of us is this: to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble fellowship with our God.

After a little while a man noticed Peter and said, “You are one of them, too!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”

A man in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide with me the property our father left us.”
