The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Take care of him,’ he told the innkeeper, ‘and when I come back this way, I will pay you whatever else you spend on him.’”

When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.

When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind;

My host Gaius, in whose house the church meets, sends you his greetings; Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings.

He agreed to pay them the regular wage, a silver coin a day, and sent them to work in his vineyard.

“Then the man went out and met one of his fellow servants who owed him a few dollars. He grabbed him and started choking him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he said.

He went over to him, poured oil and wine on his wounds and bandaged them; then he put the man on his own animal and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.

And Jesus concluded, “In your opinion, which one of these three acted like a neighbor toward the man attacked by the robbers?”
