‘Even the dust from your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. But remember that the Kingdom of God has come near you!’

The apostles shook the dust off their feet in protest against them and went on to Iconium.

heal the sick in that town, and say to the people there, ‘The Kingdom of God has come near you.’

He reflects the brightness of God's glory and is the exact likeness of God's own being, sustaining the universe with his powerful word. After achieving forgiveness for the sins of all human beings, he sat down in heaven at the right side of God, the Supreme Power.

But Paul and Barnabas spoke out even more boldly: “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we will leave you and go to the Gentiles.

Take care, then, so that what the prophets said may not happen to you:

“My fellow Israelites, descendants of Abraham, and all Gentiles here who worship God: it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent!

If you come to a town where people do not welcome you or will not listen to you, leave it and shake the dust off your feet. That will be a warning to them!”

And if some home or town will not welcome you or listen to you, then leave that place and shake the dust off your feet.

But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to welcome a disobedient and rebellious people.”

What it says is this: “God's message is near you, on your lips and in your heart”—that is, the message of faith that we preach.

Whether those rebels listen to you or not, they will know that a prophet has been among them.

“Turn away from your sins,” he said, “because the Kingdom of heaven is near!”

Go and preach, ‘The Kingdom of heaven is near!’

wherever people don't welcome you, leave that town and shake the dust off your feet as a warning to them.”

But whenever you go into a town and are not welcomed, go out in the streets and say,
