We will obey you, just as we always obeyed Moses, and may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses!

Joshua, no one will be able to defeat you as long as you live. I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will always be with you; I will never abandon you.

As the Lord has been with Your Majesty, may he also be with Solomon and make his reign even more prosperous than yours.”

They answered Joshua, “We will do everything you have told us and will go anywhere you send us.

Whoever questions your authority or disobeys any of your orders will be put to death. Be determined and confident!”

The Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a capable man, and place your hands on his head.

Give him some of your own authority, so that the whole community of Israel will obey him.

Joshua son of Nun was filled with wisdom, because Moses had appointed him to be his successor. The people of Israel obeyed Joshua and kept the commands that the Lord had given them through Moses.

What the Lord did that day made the people of Israel consider Joshua a great man. They honored him all his life, just as they had honored Moses.

The Lord has saved me from lions and bears; he will save me from this Philistine.” “All right,” Saul answered. “Go, and the Lord be with you.”

I said to myself that your promise, sir, would make me safe, because the king is like God's angel and can distinguish good from evil. May the Lord your God be with you!”
