Then the Lord reached out, touched my lips, and said to me, “Listen, I am giving you the words you must speak.

because I will give you such words and wisdom that none of your enemies will be able to refute or contradict what you say.

For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

I stretched out the heavens and laid the earth's foundations; I say to Jerusalem, ‘You are my people! I have given you my teaching, and I protect you with my hand.’”

The Sovereign Lord has taught me what to say, so that I can strengthen the weary. Every morning he makes me eager to hear what he is going to teach me.

When they bring you to trial, do not worry about what you are going to say or how you will say it; when the time comes, you will be given what you will say.

God continued, “Mortal man, pay close attention and remember everything I tell you.

He made my words as sharp as a sword. With his own hand he protected me. He made me like an arrow, sharp and ready for use.

So Jesus took him off alone, away from the crowd, put his fingers in the man's ears, spat, and touched the man's tongue.

The Lord told Balaam what to say and sent him back to Balak to give him his message.

I will send them a prophet like you from among their own people; I will tell him what to say, and he will tell the people everything I command.

“Get a scroll and write on it everything that I have told you about Israel and Judah and all the nations. Write everything that I have told you from the time I first spoke to you, when Josiah was king, up to the present.

Then a hand took hold of me and raised me to my hands and knees; I was still trembling.

Then the angel, who looked like a human being, reached out and touched my lips. I said to him, “Sir, this vision makes me so weak that I can't stop trembling.

“On the day that you were gathered at Mount Sinai, you begged not to hear the Lord speak again or to see his fiery presence any more, because you were afraid you would die.

So the Lord said to me, ‘They have made a wise request.

And I make a covenant with you: I have given you my power and my teachings to be yours forever, and from now on you are to obey me and teach your children and your descendants to obey me for all time to come.”

To this the Lord replied, “If you return, I will take you back, and you will be my servant again. If instead of talking nonsense you proclaim a worthwhile message, you will be my prophet again. The people will come back to you, and you will not need to go to them.

Then I gave this message to King Zedekiah in Jerusalem
