She went back to Elisha, the prophet, who said to her, “Sell the olive oil and pay all your debts, and there will be enough money left over for you and your sons to live on.”

He must be hospitable and love what is good. He must be self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined.

You are our witnesses, and so is God, that our conduct toward you who believe was pure, right, and without fault.

In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.

These are the blessings that Moses, the man of God, pronounced on the people of Israel before he died.

I want you to remember the words that were spoken long ago by the holy prophets, and the command from the Lord and Savior which was given you by your apostles.

For no prophetic message ever came just from the human will, but people were under the control of the Holy Spirit as they spoke the message that came from God.

But you, man of God, avoid all these things. Strive for righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

At the Lord's command a prophet from Judah went to Bethel and arrived there as Jeroboam stood at the altar to offer the sacrifice.

But a prophet went to the king and said to him, “Don't take these Israelite soldiers with you. The Lord is not with these people from the Northern Kingdom.
