When they had filled all the jars, she asked if there were any more. “That was the last one,” one of her sons answered. And the olive oil stopped flowing.

Everyone ate and had enough. Then the disciples took up twelve baskets full of what was left over.

This made Elisha angry, and he said to the king, “You should have struck five or six times, and then you would have won complete victory over the Syrians; but now you will defeat them only three times.”

All the people tried to touch him, for power was going out from him and healing them all.

When they were all full, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces left over; let us not waste a bit.”

They all ate and had enough. Then the disciples took up seven baskets full of pieces left over.

Because they did not have faith, he did not perform many miracles there.

Then Jesus touched their eyes and said, “Let it happen, then, just as you believe!”—

For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The bowl will not run out of flour or the jar run out of oil before the day that I, the Lord, send rain.’”

The manna stopped falling then, and the Israelites no longer had any. From that time on they ate food grown in Canaan.

So the woman went into her house with her sons, closed the door, took the small jar of olive oil, and poured oil into the jars as her sons brought them to her.
