Zechariah 10:5

God's Word

Together they will be like warriors who trample the enemy in the mud on the streets. They will fight because the Lord is with them. They will put to shame those who ride on horses.

I beat them into a powder as fine as the dust on the ground. I crushed them and stomped on them like the dirt on the streets.

Then the earth shook and quaked. Even the foundations of the heavens trembled. They shook violently because he was angry.

The Lord’s power will be on this mountain. Moab will be trampled beneath him like straw that is trampled in a pile of manure.

How horrible it will be for those who go to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who depend on many chariots, who depend on very strong war horses. They don’t look to the Holy One of Israel. They don’t seek the Lord.

You will search for your enemies, but you will not find them. Those who are at war with you will be reduced to nothing and no longer exist.

“I have raised up someone from the north, and he has come. He will call on my name from the east. He will attack rulers as if they were mud, as if he were treading on clay like a potter.

The Lord declares, “On that day I will strike every horse with panic and every rider with madness. I will watch over the people of Judah, but I will strike all the horses of the nations blind.

On that day the Lord will defend those who live in Jerusalem so that even those who stumble will be like David, and David’s family will be like God, like the Messenger of the Lord ahead of them.

On that day a large-scale panic from the Lord will spread among them. One person will grab the hand of another, and one will attack the other.

Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as he does when he fights a battle.

I will bend Judah as my bow and draw my bow with Ephraim ⌞as its arrow⌟. I will stir up your people, Zion, against your people, Greece, and I will use you like a warrior’s sword.

When you go to war against your enemies, you may see horses, chariots, and armies larger than yours. Don’t be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, will be with you.

However, the Lord stood by me and gave me strength so that I could finish spreading the Good News for all the nations to hear. I was snatched out of a lion’s mouth.

I have fought the good fight. I have completed the race. I have kept the faith.

Never before or after this day was there anything like it. The Lord did what a man told him to do, because the Lord fought for Israel.

Joshua captured all these kings and their territories in one campaign because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

I saw an angel standing in the sun. He cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come! Gather for the great banquet of God.

One of the officials said, “I know one of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem who can play well. He’s a courageous man and a warrior. He has a way with words, he is handsome, and the Lord is with him.”
