As a Christian, I’m telling you the truth. I’m not lying. The Holy Spirit, along with my own thoughts, supports me in this.

They show that some requirements found in Moses’ Teachings are written in their hearts. Their consciences speak to them. Their thoughts accuse them on one occasion and defend them on another.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

I have deep sorrow and endless heartache.

We are proud that our conscience is clear. We are proud of the way that we have lived in this world. We have lived with a God-given holiness  and sincerity, especially toward you. It was not by human wisdom that we have lived but by God’s kindness.

I appeal to God as a witness on my behalf, that I stayed away from Corinth because I wanted to spare you.

As surely as I have Christ’s truth, my bragging will not be silenced anywhere in Greece.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is praised forever, knows that I’m not lying.

Have you been thinking all along that we’re trying to defend ourselves to you? We speak as Christ’s people in God’s sight. Everything we do, dear friends, is for your benefit.

As you know, we never used flattery or schemes to make money. God is our witness!

My goal in giving you this order is for love to flow from a pure heart, from a clear conscience, and from a sincere faith.

I was appointed to spread this Good News and to be an apostle to teach people who are not Jewish about faith and truth. I’m telling you the truth. I’m not lying.

I solemnly call on you in the sight of God, Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels to be impartial when you follow what I’ve told you. Never play favorites.
