Godless fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. There is no one who does good things.

I have found only this: God made people decent, but they looked for many ways ⌞to avoid being decent⌟.”

We have all strayed like sheep. Each one of us has turned to go his own way, and the Lord has laid all our sins on him.

They don’t know the way of peace. There’s no justice on their highways. They’ve made their paths crooked. Whoever walks on them will never know peace.

We’ve all become unclean, and all our righteous acts are like permanently stained rags. All of us shrivel like leaves, and our sins carry us away like the wind.

“My people have done two things wrong. They have abandoned me, the fountain of life-giving water. They have also dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that can’t hold water.

Throw this useless servant outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.’

No one understands. No one searches for God.

Their throats are open graves. Their tongues practice deception. Their lips hide the venom of poisonous snakes.

All of us once lived among these people, and followed the desires of our corrupt nature. We did what our corrupt desires and thoughts wanted us to do. So, because of our nature, we deserved God’s anger just like everyone else.

Once he was useless to you, but now he is very useful to both of us.

You were like lost sheep. Now you have come back to the shepherd and bishop of your lives.
