Do you have contempt for God, who is very kind to you, puts up with you, and deals patiently with you? Don’t you realize that it is God’s kindness that is trying to lead you to him and change the way you think and act?

He says to himself, “God has forgotten. He has hidden his face. He will never see it!”

What a large number of things you have made, O Lord! You made them all by wisdom. The earth is filled with your creatures.

Your kindness is so great! You reserve it for those who fear you. Adam’s descendants watch as you show it to those who take refuge in you.

But he is compassionate. He forgave their sin. He did not destroy them. He restrained his anger many times. He did not display all of his fury.

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.

You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, full of mercy toward everyone who calls out to you.

Then he passed in front of Moses, calling out, “The Lord, the Lord, a compassionate and merciful God, patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.

When a sentence against a crime isn’t carried out quickly, people are encouraged to commit crimes.

The Lord is waiting to be kind to you. He rises to have compassion on you. The Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

Then you stand in my presence in the house that is called by my name. You think that you’re safe to do all these disgusting things.

I will give them a single purpose and put a new spirit in them. I will remove their stubborn hearts and give them obedient hearts.

You will remember and be ashamed. You will never again open your mouth because of your disgrace when I forgive you for everything you did, declares the Almighty Lord.’ ”

After that, the Israelites will turn and look to the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord for his blessings in the last days.

So he prayed to the Lord, “Lord, isn’t this what I said would happen when I was still in my own country? That’s why I tried to run to Tarshish in the first place. I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, patient, and always ready to forgive and to reconsider your threats of destruction.

‘The Lord … patient, forever loving…. He forgives wrongdoing and disobedience…. He never lets the guilty go unpunished, punishing children … for their parents’ sins to the third and fourth generation….’

There is no difference between Jews and Greeks. They all have the same Lord, who gives his riches to everyone who calls on him.

Look at how kind and how severe God can be. He is severe to those who fell, but kind to you if you continue to hold on to his kindness. Otherwise, you, too, will be cut off ⌞from the tree⌟.

God’s riches, wisdom, and knowledge are so deep that it is impossible to explain his decisions or to understand his ways.

God showed that Christ is the throne of mercy where God’s approval is given through faith in Christ’s blood. In his patience God waited to deal with sins committed in the past.

What should we say then? Should we continue to sin so that God’s kindness  will increase?

Then what is the implication? Should we sin because we are not controlled by God’s laws but by God’s favor? That’s unthinkable!

While they were being severely tested by suffering, their overflowing joy, along with their extreme poverty, has made them even more generous.

Then you will have deeper insight. You will know the confidence that he calls you to have and the glorious wealth that God’s people will inherit.

Through the blood of his Son, we are set free from our sins. God forgives our failures because of his overflowing kindness.

But God is rich in mercy because of his great love for us.

He did this through Christ Jesus out of his generosity to us in order to show his extremely rich kindness in the world to come.

I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit.

I am the least of all God’s people. Yet, God showed me his kindness by allowing me to spread the Good News of the immeasurable wealth of Christ to people who are not Jewish.

My God will richly fill your every need in a glorious way through Christ Jesus.

God wanted his people throughout the world to know the glorious riches of this mystery—which is Christ living in you, giving you the hope of glory.

Because they are united in love, I work so that they may be encouraged by all the riches that come from a complete understanding of Christ. He is the mystery of God.

However, I was treated with mercy so that Christ Jesus could use me, the foremost sinner, to demonstrate his patience. This patience serves as an example for those who would believe in him and live forever.

Tell those who have the riches of this world not to be arrogant and not to place their confidence in anything as uncertain as riches. Instead, they should place their confidence in God who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

They are like those who disobeyed long ago in the days of Noah when God waited patiently while Noah built the ship. In this ship a few people—eight in all—were saved by water.

Then you will also be given the wealth of entering into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Think of our Lord’s patience as an opportunity ⌞for us⌟ to be saved. This is what our dear brother Paul wrote to you about, using the wisdom God gave him.

First, you must understand this: In the last days people who follow their own desires will appear. These disrespectful people will ridicule ⌞God’s promise⌟

The Lord isn’t slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn’t want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act.

I gave her time to turn to me and change the way she thinks and acts, but she refuses to turn away from her sexual sins.

Look, I’m standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I’ll come in and we’ll eat together.
