You are confident that you are a guide for the blind, a light to those in the dark,

Have you met a person who thinks he is wise? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Now, the Lord says, “You are not just my servant who restores the tribes of Jacob and brings back those in Israel whom I have preserved. I have also made you a light for the nations so that you would save people all over the world.”

How horrible it will be for those who think they are wise and consider themselves to be clever.

⌞Israel’s⌟ watchmen are blind. None of them know anything. All of them are like dogs that are unable to bark. They lie around dreaming; they love to sleep.

Leave them alone! They are blind leaders. When one blind person leads another, both will fall into the same pit.”

The people who lived in darkness have seen a bright light. A light has risen for those who live in a land overshadowed by death.”

“You are light for the world. A city cannot be hidden when it is located on a hill.

But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light in you is darkness, how dark it will be!

I can guarantee this truth: Whoever doesn’t receive God’s kingdom as a little child receives it will never enter it.”

He will give light to those who live in the dark and in death’s shadow. He will guide us into the way of peace.”

You will open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan’s control to God’s. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and a share among God’s people who are made holy by believing in me.’

Don’t deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise in the ways of this world, you should give up that wisdom in order to become really wise.

We have given up our wisdom for Christ, but you have insight because of Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honored, but we are dishonored.

Then you will be blameless and innocent. You will be God’s children without any faults among people who are crooked and corrupt. You will shine like stars among them in the world
