Then he shouted in a loud voice as a lion roars. When he shouted, the seven thunders spoke with voices of their own.

The voice of the Lord rolls over the water. The God of glory thunders. The Lord shouts over raging water.

The rage of a king is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

This is what the Lord said to me: A lion, even a young lion, growls over its prey when a crowd of shepherds is called to fight it. It isn’t frightened by their voices or disturbed by the noise they make. So the Lord of Armies will come to fight for Mount Zion and its hill.

The Lord marches out like a warrior. He prepares himself for battle like a soldier. He shouts, gives the battle cry, and overpowers his enemies.

They roar like a lioness. They growl like a young lion. They growl as they snatch their prey and carry it off to where no one can rescue it.

“That is why you will prophesy all these things to them and say, ‘The Lord roars from above. He thunders from his holy dwelling place. He roars against his land. He shouts like those who stomp grapes. He shouts against all those who live on earth.

The sound of the angels’ wings was heard as far as the outer courtyard. It was like the sound of the Almighty God when he speaks.

“My people will follow me when I roar like a lion. When I roar, my children will come trembling from the west.

The Lord will roar from Zion, and his voice will thunder from Jerusalem. The sky and the earth will shake. The Lord will be a refuge for his people. He will be a stronghold for the people of Israel.

He said: The Lord roars from Zion, and his voice thunders from Jerusalem. The pastures of the shepherds are turning brown, and the top of ⌞Mount⌟ Carmel is dried up.

The lion has roared. Who isn’t afraid? The Almighty Lord has spoken. Who can keep from prophesying?

Then I heard a sound from heaven like the noise of raging water and the noise of loud thunder. The sound I heard was like the music played by harpists.

I saw another sign in heaven. It was spectacular and amazing. There were seven angels with the last seven plagues which are the final expression of God’s anger.

One of the four living creatures gave seven gold bowls full of the anger of God, who lives forever and ever, to the seven angels.

Lightning, noise, and thunder came from the throne. Seven flaming torches were burning in front of the throne. These are the seven spirits of God.

The angel took the incense burner, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it on the earth. Then there was thunder, noise, lightning, and an earthquake.
