But the king will find joy in God. Everyone who takes an oath by God will brag, but the mouths of liars will be shut.

Decent people will see this and rejoice, but all the wicked people will shut their mouths.

“I have installed my own king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

The king finds joy in your strength, O Lord. What great joy he has in your victory!

Let ⌞their⌟ lying lips be speechless, since they speak against righteous people with arrogance and contempt.

If we forgot the name of our God or stretched out our hands to pray to another god,

I will remove those who worship all the stars in the sky on their rooftops and those who worship by swearing loyalty to the Lord while also swearing loyalty to the god Milcom.

We know that whatever the Scriptures say applies to everyone under their influence, and no one can say a thing. The whole world is brought under the judgment of God.

You must fear the Lord your God, serve him, and take your oaths only in his name.

God made a promise to Abraham. Since he had no one greater on whom to base his oath, he based it on himself.

“Don’t be afraid,” he told David, “my father Saul won’t find you. You will rule Israel, and I will be your second-in-command. Even my father Saul knows this.”

Now I know that you certainly will rule as king, and under your guidance the kingdom of Israel will prosper.
