Psalm 63:1

God's Word

O God, you are my God. At dawn I search for you. My soul thirsts for you. My body longs for you in a dry, parched land where there is no water.

Why are you discouraged, my soul? Why are you so restless? Put your hope in God, because I will still praise him. He is my savior and my God.

In the morning, O Lord, hear my voice. In the morning I lay my needs in front of you, and I wait.

When he killed ⌞some of⌟ them, ⌞the rest⌟ searched for him. They turned from their sins and eagerly looked for God.

My soul longs and yearns for the Lord’s courtyards. My whole body shouts for joy to the living God.

I will say to the Lord, “⌞You are⌟ my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.”

The Lord is my strength and my song. He is my Savior. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will honor him.

But the people were thirsty for water there. They complained to Moses and asked, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt? Was it to make us, our children, and our livestock die of thirst?”

I love those who love me. Those eagerly looking for me will find me.

Young women of Jerusalem, swear to me that if you find my beloved you will tell him I am hopelessly lovesick.

Then each ruler will be like a shelter from the wind and a hiding place from the rain. They will be like streams on parched ground and the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

Then the hot sand will become a pool, and dry ground will have springs. Grass will become cattails and rushes in the home of jackals.

I will make rivers flow on bare hilltops. I will make springs flow through valleys. I will turn deserts into lakes. I will turn dry land into springs.

“At that time,” declares the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people.”

“But this is the promise that I will make to Israel after those days,” declares the Lord: “I will put my teachings inside them, and I will write those teachings on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I will go back to my place until they admit that they are guilty. Then they will search for me. In their distress they will eagerly look for me.”

I will bring this third ⌞of the people⌟ through the fire. I will refine them as silver is refined. I will test them as gold is tested. They will call on me, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people.’ They will reply, ‘The Lord is our God.’ ”

“When an evil spirit comes out of a person, it goes through dry places looking for a place to rest. But it doesn’t find any.

But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you.
