Mercy belongs to you, O Lord. You reward a person based on what he has done.”

Riches and honor are in front of you. You rule everything. You hold power and strength in your hands, and you can make anyone great and strong.

“God speaks in one way, even in two ways without people noticing it:

God will repay humanity for what it has done and will give each person what he deserves.

The Almighty, whom we can’t reach, is great in power and judgment, has more than enough righteousness, and does not oppress.

If it is a matter of strength, then he is the mighty one. If it is about justice, who will charge me with a crime?

But from everlasting to everlasting, the Lord’s mercy is on those who fear him. His righteousness belongs to their children and grandchildren,

The Lord is compassionate, merciful, patient, and always ready to forgive.

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and merciful God. You are patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.

You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, full of mercy toward everyone who calls out to you.

When you say, “We didn’t know this,” won’t the one who weighs hearts take note of it? Won’t the one who guards your soul know it? Won’t he pay back people for what they do?

You make wise plans and do mighty things. You see everything the descendants of Adam do. You reward them for the way they live and for what they do.

“That is why I will judge each of you by what you have done, people of Israel,” declares the Almighty Lord. “Change the way you think and act. Turn away from all the rebellious things that you have done so that you will not fall into sin.

Yet, the people of Israel say, ‘The Lord’s way is unfair.’ I will judge each of you by your own ways, people of Israel.”

Kings will mourn, and princes will give up hope. The common people will lose their courage. I will give them what they deserve and judge them as they have judged others. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

Open your ears and listen, my God. Open your eyes and look at our ruins and at the city called by your name. We are not requesting this from you because we are righteous, but because you are very compassionate.

“But you, Lord our God, are compassionate and forgiving, although we have rebelled against you.

Who is a God like you? You forgive sin and overlook the rebellion of your faithful people. You will not be angry forever, because you would rather show mercy.

The Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father’s glory. Then he will pay back each person based on what that person has done.

He will pay all people back for what they have done.

The one who plants and the one who waters have the same goal, and each will receive a reward for his own work.

All of us must appear in front of Christ’s judgment seat. Then all people will receive what they deserve for the good or evil they have done while living in their bodies.

You know that your heavenly master will reward all of us for whatever good we do, whether we’re slaves or free people.

The person who does wrong will be paid back for the wrong he has done. God does not play favorites.

So if you call God your Father, live your time as temporary residents on earth in fear. He is the God who judges all people by what they have done, and he doesn’t play favorites.

“I’m coming soon! I will bring my reward with me to pay all people based on what they have done.
