His heart is steady, and he is not afraid. In the end he will look triumphantly at his enemies.

You welcomed him with the blessings of good things and set a crown of fine gold on his head.

Come, see the works of the Lord, the devastation he has brought to the earth.

O Lord, lead me in your righteousness because of those who spy on me. Make your way in front of me smooth.

My enemies spy on me. Pay them back with evil. Destroy them with your truth!

Your name rescues me from every trouble. My eyes will gloat over my enemies.

All day long my enemies spy on me. They harass me. There are so many fighting against me.

They attack, and then they hide. They watch my every step as they wait to take my life.

O my strength, I will make music to praise you! God is my stronghold, my merciful God!

Do not hold the crimes of our ancestors against us. Reach out to us soon with your compassion, because we are helpless.

You only have to look with your eyes to see the punishment of wicked people.

My eyes gloat over those who spy on me. My ears hear ⌞the cries⌟ of evildoers attacking me.

Before they call, I will answer. While they’re still speaking, I will hear.

I have not run away from being your shepherd, and I have not longed for the day of destruction. You know what came out of my mouth.

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the Father who is compassionate and the God who gives comfort.

We are telling you what the Lord taught. We who are still alive when the Lord comes will not go ⌞into his kingdom⌟ ahead of those who have already died.

God, who shows you his kindness  and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and support you as you suffer for a little while.

I solemnly swear, as the Lord lives,” David added, “the Lord will strike him. Either his time will come when he’ll die ⌞naturally⌟, or he’ll go into battle and be swept away.
