The east wind carries him away, and he’s gone. It sweeps him from his place.

I would be buried like a stillborn baby. I would not exist. I would be like infants who never saw the light.

The wicked person arrogantly pursues oppressed people. He will be caught in the schemes that he planned.

He always seems to succeed. Your judgments are beyond his understanding. He spits at all his opponents.

They swarmed around me like bees, but they were extinguished like burning thornbushes. ⌞So armed⌟ with the name of the Lord, I defeated them.

But you, O God, will throw ⌞wicked people⌟ into the deepest pit. Bloodthirsty and deceitful people will not live out half their days. But I will trust you.

when panic strikes you like a violent storm, when calamity strikes you like a wind storm, when trouble and anguish come to you.

When the storm has passed, the wicked person has vanished, but the righteous person has an everlasting foundation.

A wicked person is thrown down by his own wrongdoing, but even in his death a righteous person has a refuge.

The laughter of a fool is like the crackling of thorns burning under a pot. Even this is pointless.

The people will make noise like raging water. But the Lord will yell at them, and they will run far away. They will be chased away like husks on the mountains being blown by the wind, like whirling dust being blown by a storm.

They have hardly been planted. They have hardly been sown. They have hardly taken root in the ground. Then he blows on them and they wither, and a windstorm sweeps them away like straw.

The storm of the Lord will come with his anger. Like a windstorm, it will swirl down on the heads of the wicked.

But if the Lord does something totally new—if the ground opens up, swallows them and everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive to their graves—then you’ll know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt.”
