O God, knock the teeth out of their mouths. Break the young lions’ teeth, O Lord.

I broke the teeth of the wicked person and made him drop the prey out of his mouth.

Who can open its closed mouth? Its teeth are surrounded by terror.

Break the arm of the wicked and evil person. Punish his wickedness until you find no more.

Each one of them is like a lion eager to tear ⌞its prey⌟ apart and like a young lion crouching in hiding places.

Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! You have slapped all my enemies in the face. You have smashed the teeth of wicked people.

You will step on lions and cobras. You will trample young lions and snakes.

If a snake bites before it has been charmed, then there is no advantage in being a snake charmer.

This is what the Lord said to me: A lion, even a young lion, growls over its prey when a crowd of shepherds is called to fight it. It isn’t frightened by their voices or disturbed by the noise they make. So the Lord of Armies will come to fight for Mount Zion and its hill.

“I am going to send snakes among you, vipers that can’t be charmed. They will bite you,” declares the Lord.

I will be like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the nation of Judah. I will carry ⌞them⌟ off, and no one will rescue ⌞them⌟.

The few people left from Jacob will be among the nations, among many people. They will be like a lion among animals in the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep. When a lion hunts, it tramples ⌞its victims⌟ and tears ⌞them⌟ to pieces, and there is no one to rescue them.

Here is a nation that attacks like a lioness and is as ferocious as a lion. It doesn’t lie down until it eats its prey and drinks the blood of its victim.”
