I have followed his footsteps closely. I have stayed on his path and did not turn from it.

Let the darkness and long shadows claim it as their own. Let a dark cloud hang over it. Let the gloom terrify it.

I’m a brother to jackals and a companion of ostriches.

Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage.

I am numb and completely devastated. I roar because my heart’s in turmoil.

Let me hear ⌞sounds of⌟ joy and gladness. Let the bones that you have broken dance.

On that day the Lord will use his fierce and powerful sword to punish Leviathan, that slippery snake, Leviathan, that twisting snake. He will kill that monster which lives in the sea.

Then the hot sand will become a pool, and dry ground will have springs. Grass will become cattails and rushes in the home of jackals.

“Say this to them: ‘My eyes flow with tears day and night without stopping because my dear people will suffer massive destruction. It will be a very serious blow.’ ”

Tell him, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: I’m against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt. You are like a monster crocodile lying in the Nile River. You say, “The Nile River is mine. I made it for myself.”

The people who lived in darkness have seen a bright light. A light has risen for those who live in a land overshadowed by death.”

The huge serpent was thrown down. That ancient snake, named Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, was thrown down to earth. Its angels were thrown down with it.

The beast that I saw was like a leopard. Its feet were like bear’s feet. Its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. The serpent gave its power, kingdom, and far-reaching authority to the beast.

The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast. Its kingdom turned dark. People gnawed on their tongues in anguish
