Pharaoh asked him, “What don’t you have here that makes you eager to go home?” “Nothing,” he said. “But let me leave anyway.”

Why do you rip yourself apart in anger? Should the earth be abandoned for your sake or a boulder be dislodged?

Certainly, anger kills a stubborn fool, and jealousy murders a gullible person.

I also said when I was panic-stricken, “Everyone is undependable.”

When I was panic-stricken, I said, “I have been cut off from your sight.” But you heard my pleas for mercy when I cried out to you for help.

If I had said, “I will continue to talk like that,” I would have betrayed God’s people.

A person of great understanding is patient, but a short temper is the height of stupidity.

Better to get angry slowly than to be a hero. Better to be even-tempered than to capture a city.

Jonah was very upset about this, and he became angry.

Then God asked Jonah, “What right do you have to be angry over this plant?” Jonah answered, “I have every right to be angry—so angry that I want to die.”

Be angry without sinning. Don’t go to bed angry.

Get rid of your bitterness, hot tempers, anger, loud quarreling, cursing, and hatred.

Also get rid of your anger, hot tempers, hatred, cursing, obscene language, and all similar sins.
