It happened that night. The Lord’s angel went out and killed 185,000 ⌞soldiers⌟ in the Assyrian camp. When the Judeans got up early in the morning, they saw all the corpses.

Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, please open his eyes so that he may see.” The Lord opened the servant’s eyes and let him see. The mountain around Elisha was full of fiery horses and chariots.

When I called, you answered me. You made me bold by strengthening my soul.

You are all around me—in front of me and in back of me. You lay your hand on me.

Call on me in times of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honor me.”

He will put his angels in charge of you to protect you in all your ways.

“Never take advantage of any widow or orphan.

If you take any of your neighbor’s clothes as collateral, give it back to him by sunset.

My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they couldn’t hurt me. He did this because he considered me innocent. Your Majesty, I haven’t committed any crime.”

I will camp in front of my house as a guard against those who come and go. No oppressors will pass through them, because I have seen it with my own eyes.

“Be careful not to despise these little ones. I can guarantee that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father, who is in heaven.

“One day the beggar died, and the angels carried him to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried.

What are all the angels? They are spirits sent to serve those who are going to receive salvation.
