Keep your tongue from saying evil things and your lips from speaking deceitful things.
when you turn against God and spit these words out of your mouth?
O Lord, set a guard at my mouth. Keep watch over the door of my lips.
I said, “I will watch my ways so that I do not sin with my tongue. I will bridle my mouth while wicked people are in my presence.”
Destruction is everywhere. Oppression and fraud never leave the streets.
The word of truth lasts forever, but lies last only a moment.
Lips that lie are disgusting to the Lord, but honest people are his delight.
Overthrow wicked people, and they are no more, but the families of righteous people continue to stand.
Whoever controls his mouth protects his own life. Whoever has a big mouth comes to ruin.
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love to talk will have to eat their own words.
A lying witness will not go unpunished. One who tells lies will die.
Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.
He said, “They are my people, children who will not lie to me.” So he became their Savior.
Search for good instead of evil so that you may live. Then the Lord God of Armies will be with you, as you have said.
Don’t lie to each other. You’ve gotten rid of the person you used to be and the life you used to live,
Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily.
If a person thinks that he is religious but can’t control his tongue, he is fooling himself. That person’s religion is worthless.
All of us make a lot of mistakes. If someone doesn’t make any mistakes when he speaks, he would be perfect. He would be able to control everything he does.
So get rid of every kind of evil, every kind of deception, hypocrisy, jealousy, and every kind of slander.
Christ never committed any sin. He never spoke deceitfully.
