Hear my prayer for mercy when I call to you for help, when I lift my hands toward your most holy place.

He prepared the inner room of the temple in order to put the ark of the Lord’s promise there.

He built an annex containing side rooms all around the temple. This annex was next to the walls of the main building and the inner sanctuary.

⌞hear⌟ every prayer for mercy, made by one person or by all the people in Israel, whose consciences bother them, who stretch out their hands toward this temple.

(Solomon had made a bronze platform 7½ feet long, 7½ feet wide, and 4½ feet high. He put it in the middle of the courtyard. He stood on the platform, knelt in front of the entire assembly, and stretched out his hands toward heaven.)

But when people become crooked, the Lord will lead them away with troublemakers. Let there be peace in Israel!

O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be open to my pleas for mercy.

Lift your hands toward the holy place, and praise the Lord.

I will bow toward your holy temple. I will give thanks to your name because of your mercy and truth. You have made your name and your promise greater than everything.

I said to the Lord, “You are my God.” O Lord, open your ears to hear my plea for pity.

O Lord, I cry out to you, “Come quickly.” Open your ears to me when I cry out to you.

Let my prayer be accepted as sweet-smelling incense in your presence. Let the lifting up of my hands in prayer be accepted as an evening sacrifice.

I stretch out my hands to you in prayer. Like parched land, my soul thirsts for you. Selah

But I will enter your house because of your great mercy. Out of reverence for you, I will bow toward your holy temple.

So I will thank you as long as I live. I will lift up my hands ⌞to pray⌟ in your name.

Get up! Cry out at night, every hour on the hour. Pour your heart out like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him ⌞in prayer⌟ for the life of your little children who faint from hunger at every street corner.”

When Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went to his house. An upper room in his house had windows that opened in the direction of Jerusalem. Three times each day he got down on his knees and prayed to his God. He had always praised God this way.

One of those times the men came in as a group and found Daniel praying and pleading to his God.

I want men to offer prayers everywhere. They should raise their hands in prayer after putting aside their anger and any quarrels they have with anyone.
