I trust you, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame. Do not let my enemies triumph over me.

So the Israelites were humbled at that time, and the men of Judah won because they trusted the Lord God of their ancestors.

But I trust your mercy. My heart finds joy in your salvation.

Pay attention to my cry for help because I am very weak. Rescue me from those who pursue me because they are too strong for me.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my Savior, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the strength of my salvation, my stronghold.

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away from helping me, so far away from the words of my groaning?

They cried to you and were saved. They trusted you and were never disappointed.

“Put yourself in the Lord’s hands. Let the Lord save him! Let God rescue him since he is pleased with him!”

I have taken refuge in you, O Lord. Never let me be put to shame. Save me because of your righteousness.

My future is in your hands. Rescue me from my enemies, from those who persecute me.

Turn your ear toward me. Rescue me quickly. Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the person who takes refuge in him.

The Lord helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from wicked people. He saves them because they have taken refuge in him.

and my enemy cannot shout in triumph over me. When you do this, I know that you are pleased with me.

Have pity on me, O God, because people are harassing me. All day long warriors oppress me.

O Lord my God, I have taken refuge in you. Save me, and rescue me from all who are pursuing me.

I have taken refuge in you, O Lord. Never let me be put to shame.

I will say to the Lord, “⌞You are⌟ my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.”

How long, O Lord, will wicked people triumph? How long?

With perfect peace you will protect those whose minds cannot be changed, because they trust you.

This is what the Almighty Lord says: I am going to lay a rock in Zion, a rock that has been tested, a precious cornerstone, a solid foundation. Whoever believes ⌞in him⌟ will not worry.

“Tell King Hezekiah of Judah, ‘Don’t let the god whom you trust deceive you by saying that Jerusalem will not be put under the control of the king of Assyria.

Now, Lord our God, rescue us from Assyria’s control so that all the kingdoms on earth will know that you alone are the Lord.”

“I will shield this city to rescue it for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.”

You will winnow  them. The wind will carry them away. The windstorm will scatter them. But you will find joy in the Lord and praise the Holy One of Israel.

Then kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens will nurse you. They will bow in front of you with their faces touching the ground. They will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord. Those who wait with hope for me will not be put to shame.

Put my persecutors to shame, but do not let me be put to shame. Terrify them, but do not let me be terrified. Bring the day of disaster on them, and destroy them completely.

Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be ashamed.”

We’re not ashamed to have this confidence, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

That is why Scripture says, “I am laying a chosen and precious cornerstone in Zion, and the person who believes in him will never be ashamed.”
